Rev. Champ Squires
Pastor
Terrence “Champ” Squires was born and raised in Sumter, South Carolina. He earned an associate degree from Spartanburg Methodist College, a Bachelor’s in Christian Ministries and Worship from Southern Wesleyan University, and a Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky.
Since June 2021, Champ has been faithfully serving as pastor of St. Matthew Christian Church. He is deeply passionate about encouraging, serving, motivating, and inspiring others through the gospel of Christ. Champ finds great joy in nurturing the local church, seeing it thrive, and watching people grow in loving relationship with Christ and one another.
Outside of ministry, Champ enjoys spending time with his family and friends, hosting gatherings in his home, reading, listening to music, and staying active in his community.
A unique part of Champ’s story is that he lives with cerebral palsy—something he acknowledges, but never allows to limit his calling or abilities. He lives each day with faith and determination, pursuing God’s purpose for his life with joy and resilience.
Champ’s greatest blessings include his strong support system, especially his mother and brother. He has a natural gift for connecting with people and building lasting relationships wherever he goes.
